    Smells amazing

    We use expensive knives and can tell a difference when we use this one. The wood is softer than others and comfortable for our knives. The smell of wood is amazing!

    One of the best boards

    I would choose this size over others, mainly because of the thickness. I bought it to use my Japanese knife just because the wood is on the softer end. I would not recommend using heavy grind on this board. I love the product!

    Very good board for the money.

    Overall very good board. The smell is very pleasant and not overpowering. Wet the board before each use to avoid stains and clean it immediately after use. The board warped a little, although I dried it immediately. Rewetting and flipping fixed the problem.

    This poor quality from Shun was not made

    Overall quality is below par when I received this board but I trusted Shun and thought I would grow on it. The board itself buckled quite a bit after a rinse and rocked back and forth on the flat surface after drying. Many Thanks

    Holy grail of cutting boards!

    If I could give this board 10 stars, I would. It's so beautiful in my kitchen that I was afraid to use it, it's so good. The aroma you smell when you open the box is amazing. I needed this soft board for my Shun Fuji knife. There was no way I would risk another board with my knife. I am so happy with this board!

    Looks good and smells good.

    Looks good in my kitchen and smells nice like real hinoki wood. Fully functional cutting board. I love how you can flip it and use the flat or channeled side. I smeared it with plank wax for water resistance. After a few washes in the sink it warped a bit, but that's what happens with natural wood. I think it's good value for money compared to other natural wood cutting boards.

    Beautiful, maybe too beautiful.

    This board is incredibly beautiful: maybe too beautiful for culinary purposes. The Japanese have a word for it, "mottainai". This Japanese cypress is too good for that. The board is hard, heavy, milled perfectly, thick enough and smells nice. It feels smooth and warm. At the moment it only serves as a display case in my kitchen. I can't bring myself to desecrate this wonderful work of art with my knives (I use Shun Kangso). Honestly, this board is worth every penny. However, you may have doubts
