I bought this to diagnose LED backlight problems in TVs. I have 2 TVs with bad backlighting, it showed me how bad the problem really was. Great product, easy to use, has already paid for itself! Definitely worth it if you like messing around with TVs

ONLY for small TVs. (max. 32 inch for driver board). Only good for strips but be careful as it's blown a few of mine. I have another TV that only does streaks and I have never blown streaks before and have been using them for 3 years. So I was disappointed to find that it was limited in driver board features and saw it explode a few strips. Will stick with my confidante.

The controls are a bit odd; Decreasing the current setting also decreases the voltage. With a current near the minimum, the voltage is zero, regardless of the voltage setting. This device has a power switch so you can ideally leave it at your work station, plugged in and ready to go! Its best feature is 1mA mode, no waiting time. -out so you don't have to restart the tester every time you leave it for a few seconds. Perfect!

This is a really good DC source with high potential. It works well for its intended purpose - checking the TV's LED backlight. I recommend setting the "high current" switch to 20mA, by default it's all the way out, which is WAY big for most LEDs. When connecting the probes to the LED for the first time, the brightness increases from "off" to "off". "Set Current Limit" is a nice feature. Build quality is decent.
