AFCI switches do not work!

Arc switches are the solution. These switches are constantly interfering with operation! Not only bipolar, but also unipolar. I called Siemens and of course it's a problem on my side. AFCI circuit breakers are NOT ready for prime time. My washing machine trips, my ice dispenser in the fridge trips, my son's laptop charger trips, the halogen light down the stairs trips, oh yes, the garage freezer trips! How can it be? GARBAGE!

No problem with things like vacuum cleaners

What can you say about the switch other than it fits and works. I've changed the switches on my Siemens panel when I make upgrades or modifications to my house (since AFCI is now code in most parts of the house). I had an arc ride where I used a small hammer drill in concrete and got stuck in it. No issues with things like vacuums, fans, or other similar loads that the first generation of AFCIs had trouble with awkward operation. They're a bit more expensive than a standard circuit breaker, but

HUGE headaches from awkward rides

I've had nothing but issues with these switches - nasty rides daily on various routes, old, modern and brand new. They COULD uncover major wiring errors, but I think maybe they're just not ready yet. In any case, my experience is a big investment in frustration and anger, not safety. I don't think I'll need to replace everything in my house that has a motor or switch, and I don't need to buy a special Siemens diagnostic tool -- hundreds of dollars -- to determine if there's a problem with the…
