Sierra International 18 5896 Temperature Sender Review

As a hesitant buyer, I decided to purchase this temperature sensor based on the positive reviews. I am happy to report that it performed well in my tests, accurately measuring temperature and providing reliable readings. It was easy to install and worked seamlessly with my automotive system. However, the instructions could have been more detailed for those with less experience in automotive repairs.

I bought an 02 Four Winns that didn't have a temperature sensor. The sensor worked fine but the temperature sensor was missing. So after a long search I decided that this is what I need. I installed it and it fits perfectly. Arrived quickly at a reasonable price. All my sensors are working now and I am very happy with my new old boat.

Finding the right size is difficult. It took me three orders to get the right size. There is a Sierra 1-800 phone number that Revane should call for assistance. The problem is that Sierra doesn't have a lookup table to help you with your specific engine. I learned through trial and error that you need to order a temp sensor that is 1/4 inch smaller than your thread size. My 150hp Evinrude Etec 2015 had a 3/8" faucet which meant I had to order a 1/8" temp probe.
