🚀 Boost Engine Performance with Sierra International 18-7098-1 Carburetor Kit, Medium Review

As others have written this kit does not include a replacement float assembly. They are available from a number of sources, but it would be great if they were included. The cost of the kit may go up but that will suit me. After watching a few videos online it was easy to do a carburetor rebuild with this kit.

There were no new injectors in this kit. The accelerator piston is also a bent rod rather than a right-angled end. I had to use shims to get them to fit and work properly. Otherwise it would freeze and not completely cover the butterfly. This means that the idle speed is higher than usual. I will never buy this set again. fair warning.

My MerCruiser wasn't idling properly - before ordering I watched a few videos on cleaning the carburetor and found it easy enough to do yourself. The kit worked great. It doesn't include a float and I ordered a Sierra float but didn't use it because it wasn't labeled for the correct setting. But my OEM float was in great shape anyway. My boat is running great now.

My MerCarb doesn't seem like the same model as most as I have a TKS and no throttle on top. I also have 3 jets compared to 2 most others have. There were 2 seals for the injectors in the kit, it would have been nice to have 3. Otherwise it has enough gaskets to reassemble a carburetor of almost any size and shape. The components went in easily and the carb works better than ever!

The accelerator pump on my carburetor was not working so I ordered this kit for a complete overhaul. After disassembling the carburetor I found that my kit was missing the accelerator pump piston assembly as shown in the picture. I had to find one locally to assemble. I'm not sure if it should have been or not but it's definitely in the picture. The rest of the kit components were fine.
