Only advice is to remove the current switch from the boat. Mine needed circular connections, and those are connectors, so I just soldered as it was easier for me.

After replacing the ignition coil and servicing the distributor, fuel pump and other components to get my boat started, this ignition switch was the key to getting my 1992 Maxum running again! Removing the old one and installing this one was easy and this switch is higher quality than the original switch.

It took me a long time to find a locksmith who would make me a duplicate key for my boat, the old key was starting to bend and I was afraid it would break. Anyway, short. Both keys broke off when the ignition was turned on. This would be better and easier to do than making a key. Installation was very easy and it works great!

I bought this to replace the ignition switch on my Bayliner 205 boat. My old switch still worked fine but I lost the other key that came with that brand and I couldn't find anywhere to duplicate keys. With this switch I now have one for the marina, a close friend, myself and an extra key in the truck in case I lose my key. The boat starts directly from this ignition switch.
