This is the perfect replacement blade for your paper cutting. I've found that a few things help me get the best results from this blade. If cutting vinyl or paper leaves small debris around the blade, carefully remove the debris to ensure the blade is working properly. Adjust the cutting speed manually - SLOW IT DOWN - for most projects, especially vinyl where small chunks are present. These knives cut really well! I mostly use them on card stock and they go through with no problems making mat design separation a breeze (if you have a small spatula). They last quite a long time, but unfortunately they have to be changed after a big project. Most of my cuts are done on setting 4, and the only real way to know if it's time to replace is if the patterns are difficult to remove or there are gaps in the cut. I had some issues with the blade that originally came with my machine but the Silhouette have great customer service and replaced it. I bought the machine on pre-order, so all the blades in stock are perfect. Have been using it for over a year now and it still works great! I cut quite a bit, usually several projects a week. So it's very durable. I cut both paper and vinyl, it cuts complex patterns well. I've found I need to increase the power a bit as the blade wears down, but that's acceptable

Just not the same as before. It seems the longer these ratchet blades have been on the market, the less (and worse) they cut. I am an avid paper crafter and these blades seem to dull so quickly.
