Description of Sili Brush Silicone Wodworking Hobbyists Rubber

We’ve all used those pesky and irritating horse hair acid glue brushes to apply white school glue or yellow wood glue only to find out the bristles don’t hold very well and the glue coverage is minimal. Not only that, we tend to keep buying more and more and more of these brushes just to use them once and throw them away. Introducing the the Sili Brush! This silicone glue brush allows you to apply yellow wood or white school glue quickly and easily with the SILI Brush non-stick glue brush. The SILI Brush is designed to be used over and over again without having to purchase extra brushes like you would with typical tin acid or flux applicator brushes. The silicone bristles make applying glue and cleanup of the brush a breeze. Once you finish applying glue, simply rinse the brush head off with warm soap and water and you are ready to re-use the SILI Brush again after it dries. Another way to clean the Sili brush is to let the glue dry over night on the brush tip and then peel the glue right off without damaging the brush. It’s perfect for when we are in a rush or simply just forget to clean the brush. No more throwing away brushes and no more buying huge multipacks. The handle features a comfortable grip shape for extended periods of use and it also features a flat paddle end with a built in rest. The paddle is perfect for applying small amounts of glue to smaller areas like wood dovetail or box joints. The rest on the paddle end allows the brush to be set down without touching your table top surface. This revolutionary brush makes glue up project fun and enjoyable without the mess. Use the Sili brush over and over again without having to purchase new brushes. The Sili brush tip is made from silicone rubber for easy clean up. The tip is also angled just right for optimal glue application regardless of the project.

Fiction! fits art supplies and tools

I had never heard of a glue brush until it was mentioned in a bookbinding guide. I ended up using it to glue the cardboard to the chipboard with craft glue (for the cover of the trash magazine pictured). He did an excellent job of spreading the glue. When I was done I just rinsed it off with clean water. I have used it several times and as far as I can tell there is no trace left from one time to the next.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • hard to tell

Great alternative to the boar hair glue brush

I've been looking for months for a glue brush that does a good job of applying glue for bookbinding projects without being made from animal products. Most glue brushes are made from wild boar hair. This is the solution I was looking for. Not only does it offer excellent coverage and roll up, but it is also very easy to clean. I glued 4 magazine covers together and they all look great. I am very happy that I found this brush.

I thought the glue would come off more easily after drying

I was expecting the dried Gorilla Glue to be easier to remove. It's not really effortless and doesn't come off clean and you'll be brushing forever and probably never clean the brush. When you pull and tug at the silicone bristles, they stretch to the breaking point and have difficulty detaching the dried adhesive. I wouldn't have bought it if I knew how it works.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Less than I thought.

Smaller than I thought. I think I should have looked more closely at the photos. It's like holding an oversized pen/pencil. I think I might get a better deal if I go to the dollar stores and pick up one of those silicone brushes. You'll find out when you baste food. I'm pretty sure they are the same types of brushes as these but with a difference in price given the small size of these.

This brush has already paid for itself

I was looking for an alternative to buying brushes that cannot be reused. It's getting expensive and I've found I always need glue brushes. I bought small cheap brushes and flux brushes. After some searching I found this brush and it works great. Use the brush, set it aside and wait for it to dry. After that, the dried glue simply peels off the silicone brush and it's ready for reuse. I am very happy with this brush.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Some issues

Sort of Unnecessary - at least for me

Don't know. I've tried using this little silicone brush instead of my finger to apply the glue, but my finger always wins. I use the end of a spatula more often than a brush, and small spacers or similar washers do the job well too. Perhaps for novice carpenters who haven't learned the bad habit of using their finger to apply glue, this would be a must-have tool. But for me, they're old new tricks and just another gadget to lose in my store.

Pros
  • Excellent price
Cons
  • Low maintainability

No more bristles in my glue

After using discounted cheap disposable brushes from a local glue tool supplier for the last year or so, I finally broke down and bought this glue brush. One of the annoyances with the cheap brush was that it kept leaving bristles when applying the glue. This defeats the purpose of using a brush when your fingers are covered in glue to pull out the bristles. This silicone brush solved all the problems I had with cheap brushes. What surprised me was how well it spread the glue. This gave me a…
