The NVMe M.2 version doesn't even come close to the advertised speeds.

I searched the market for an NVMe SSD and saw it for $169.99 for the 1TB version with 3200/3000 read/write. The Samsung 970 Evo 1TB costs around $250 and has similar advertised speeds. It seemed too good to pass, so I jumped on it. Instead I have a drive running at around 2000 reads/1600 writes. The write speed drops to around 1000 MB/s during longer loads. While it's by no means terrible, it's not the advertised speeds or even close. The Samsung 970 Evo claims a read speed of 3400MB/s, which…

Plug and Play in Dell Precision 5530

Received a 1TB NVMe release for a workstation upgrade. I thought it might be messing around with the BIOS, but it was literal: plug it in, turn on the computer, install Windows. This drive is supplied without mounting material. I borrowed a screw from the 2.5" SSD bracket that is already on the motherboard of this laptop. This gives a noticeable speed boost over the previous SATA SSD. Two stars removed as the company requires registration for the full advertised warranty. Can't see the point of

Faster than the 970 Evo Plus and $100 cheaper!

I'm done with Samsung. They refused to guarantee my 960 Pro 1TB because of the sticker. But don't worry, we have a rival. Silicon Power A80 1TB NVME is faster and comes with a 5-year warranty! I've used their SSDs on client machines for years and out of 100+ installations, only 2 early models have ever failed. Silicon Power completed the RMA for both drives with no issues. Don't take my word for it. Check them out in Anandtech's GIGABYTE Aorus RGB M.2 SSD review, where this drive kills…
