Installation stopped after 3.5 months

I liked it at first - it's so easy to use and mobile. I liked the review that talked about how to drop it and still work. I didn't drop it, but I carried it in my book bag and I like having a more portable external hard drive. However, after 3.5 months it stopped mounting on my computer. My other hard drives work, but this one doesn't. At first it only worked when I connected it a certain way, so I marked the extension with a marker. But a few weeks later it stopped growing altogether. So yeah,

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Annoying

I received this to replace an old WD external drive that has failed. Rugged IPX7 case for $25, reasonable prices for both. I use it as an offline backup of my online backup from my Google Drive (there are always redundant backups of important data), so speed isn't as important as reliability. The drive will eventually fail, like all drives, but I intend to reuse the case when it does. By then there will likely be higher speed ports, but since this is for archival storage USB3 will be with me…

Pros
  • USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface, backward compatible with USB 3.0/USB 2.0
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

A must-have for anyone taking photos and videos on the go.

I always take photos and videos with my cell phone and tablet. They stick together and are difficult to manage until I get home and transfer them to my computer. But now I need to unload the memory card without going into the computer with a tablet or phone. The hard drive is perfect for vacation and everything else. All videos and photos are saved to hard drive via OTG cable. Years later, memories can easily be transferred to any family member. A must-have for anyone taking photos and videos…

Pros
  • Military-grade impact protection and IPX7 water resistance. Robust aluminum housing offers high pressure resistance, can be loaded up to 300 kg.
Cons
  • So far so good

Everything I wanted except a new laptop

Very happy with this external HD. I have a MacBook Pro with a 256GB hard drive and I've been running out of disk space for some of the lectures I'm recording lately. I bought a 128GB internal SD card and a 128GB USB drive, but they only lasted a year before I basically filled them up too. So I switched to this bad boy. I actually find it faster than my USB SSDs and SD drives even though it's a hard drive. It certainly seems durable. I haven't thrown it against a wall or anything, but I'm sure…

Pros
  • Works with Ideal for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim gamers (PS4 system software version 4.50 or higher).
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Reliable Hard Drive - Data Storage

I bought 3 of these units (1TB version and two 2TB versions). After so many failures with WD and Seagate drives, I decided I needed something "more robust". I've dropped one of these on my hardwood floor a few times (just a few feet from coffee table height) and unlike my previous WD and Seagate hard drives, these little buggers kept working. I've been using 2 of these for 5 years and 1 of these for 4 years and none of my 3 have failed yet. I'm sure they'll fail one day (all hard drives do…
