It makes ice cubes but they stick to the tray and you have to freeze every single cube out of the tray. Even if you nudge them from below, they'll disengage but won't fall out until you pry them open. It's more pain than it's worth.

Finally, getting ice out of them is really difficult. The trays are very strong, so strong that it takes some force to remove the ice. Aside from the difficulty in removing the ice, they are great.

I have another silicone ice cube tray that has space between the cubes (like a hard plastic tray) and I thoughtlessly ordered them, thinking they weren't. might be a big deal, but turns out it is. There is no way to push the cube out unless you use brute force or allow the ice to melt for 5-10 minutes before attempting to push them out.
