That's exactly what I wanted.

Works great, a family member bought a new laptop not knowing it didn't have a DVD drive, used this and an old laptop's DVD drive to make an external drive. I moved the old laptop hard drive to the slot it comes in, which allowed the new laptop to copy files directly from the old hard drive. I then put the DVD drive in the case and the old HDD and tray in the old laptop and added the SSD as the main drive. Give an old laptop a little extra life for another family member and eliminate the need to

Hassle-free installation.

This was a great purchase. I was able to easily replace my CD drive with an SSD. The only tricky part was trying to swap out the bezels on my laptop for an SSD enclosure. In addition, this product is durable and easy to use. It comes with full instructions and works great: just plug in and go. Pros: - Easy installation, step-by-step instructions. - Compact, durable. - Pretty stylish design. Remove the front panel) It would be nice.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • sad packaging

This is a gem. Best Laptop Accessories

It's actually TWO things together; 1. Internal mSATA interface for HD or SSD to replace CD/DVD/BD players.2. External USB interface for remote CD/DVD/BD players. Has more than necessary tiny screws and an instruction manual. Be careful with your work, you won't get it wrong anytime soon. This is the purpose of SSD customization. (LENOVO IDEAPAD Y570)

Doesn't work with Macbook Pro unibody superdrives

I just bought this optical drive enclosure to use for the removed superdrive from my 2010 2.53 Macbook Pro 15 inch. The case alone was decent with the option to use it for a 2.5" external drive case. The Superdrive is slightly longer and partially depends from the front of the case, with no dust cover (since MacBook Pro cases only have a CD slot, not a tray that comes out of the optical drive like most other manufacturers). Conclusion - a reasonable case for the right peripherals. If your…

Great product! - Notebook Accessories

If you are looking to replace your laptop's optical drive with a hard drive, then this product is for you! Not only can you use this to add more storage to your laptop, but an existing DVD drive can be plugged into the case to create an external DVD drive for when you might need an optical drive (which is probably not very common these days is). ) . Also, the bezel on your DVD drive can now be easily removed and snapped onto the conversion tray, so you'll never know your laptop has been…

Perfect fit for 2009 iMac optical drive

Like many who are making the move to SSD, I thought my iMac needed an SSD but didn't want to lose the hard drive. I used an OWC Data Doubler for SSD in place of my existing SuperDrive, but now I had a spare SuperDrive that I couldn't use. It's slightly larger than other slot-loading optical drives, so this Silverstone Tek case with some front-panel space is perfect for it. A second cable (for USB power delivery) helps maintain power for continuous writing and reading. You can't beat the price…

  • Perfect for outdoor activities

Doesn't work with Macbook Pro Unibody Superdrives

I just bought this optical drive case to use for an ejected super drive from my 2010 15" Macbook Pro 2.53. The super drive is slightly longer and partially hanging off the front of the case with no dust cover (since MacBook Pro cases only have a CD slot, not a tray coming out of the optical drive like most other manufacturers.) Conclusion - a reasonable case for the right peripherals, if your optical drive has a tray it should work fine, if it's an apple superdrive for a unibody macbook pro…

The item worked great! Just wait for ME

Unit works as described and looks good when loaded. The caddy fitted perfectly. You'll need your own hard drive mounting screws, but that's to be expected. The finish of the product is quite pleasant. I'm just waiting for the WELT to make the product even better! *Just a note* I've been using this product for about a month. Installation went smoothly, but the speed of any inserted SSD is limited by slot limitations. I have a drive that can write 400MB/s and unfortunately the drive is slower. I…

DVD conversion kit T S06.

I converted HD to SSD on my ASUS N56VM laptop. I have seen on other forums that this set works very well. Before I buy anything, I always read forums and reviews. When I bought the SSD, I immediately bought a second hard drive container, which also had good reviews. The Samsung SSD came up to the T S06 with a cheaper case. I installed it that same evening. It was the easiest upgrade I've ever done. SSD installed perfectly, disk cloning went perfectly. I had an SSD running Windows 7 in an hour…
