Handy case for 2.5 " drives in 3.5 " bays

I bought this case to protect my 2.5" Intel 320 series 120GB Install SATA SSD in a brown box in a 3.5" bay. The problem is to place the SSD inside the case. It's barely wide enough to fit any 2.5-inch drive, but it's not too narrow to scratch a surface. It's long enough to place two fingers on the back of the SSD and press it firmly into the case's slot. It is so strong that it appears to easily withstand a free fall the length of a human body. It comes with its own 4 screws to attach the HDD…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Do Not Buy - Computer Accessories & Peripherals

I bought these because they were a cheaper alternative and could be delivered within 2 days. They don't work at all. Regardless of which disk I put them in and which server I don't put them in, they work. If I connect the drive directly everything is ok. This is my second SilverStone product that I am returning within a week. I may never have to buy SilverStone again. DO NOT BUY!

Pros
  • This is Awesome
Cons
  • No Form Required

Do not use with Vantec EZSwap4 Bays

I purchased this to use with a SandForce based SSD to boot into the Vantec EZ Swap 4 drive bay but there is an issue with the Vantec -Slot not working with AHCI, resulting in motherboard not being able to recognize the SSD. However, pulling the drive out and plugging it directly into the motherboard worked great. There is nothing wrong with this adapter, in fact I am very impressed with its packaging and build quality. I just wish I knew it wouldn't work for what I wanted to do with it. Rather…

Incredibly poor accuracy

This item was purchased as an add-on to an Antec EasySATA docking station that has worked flawlessly for three years. SilverStone's SDP09 is supposed to bring 2.5-inch drives, but it's too poorly designed to achieve that goal. The orientation of the SATA connector is offset by almost 2 mm laterally and a small distance vertically. a device that would be relatively easy to manufacture. As it is I would have to bend the block or make new mounts to make it work as intended. The offset is clearly…

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

Good SSD adapter for use in 3.5 " hot swap bay

Bought this to fit my SSD in a 3.5" hot swap bay for a Grandia case accommodate. The adapter feels solid. There are no problems installing an SSD on the adapter. You attach the SSD with two screws on each side of the adapter. Screwing in the screws without a magnetic screwdriver is difficult because the screw holes are countersunk and the supplied screws are short. Fits snugly in the adapter in the bay compared to my regular 3.5" drive. Too expensive for what you get. For 10€ I would give 5…

Might make it work for computers and accessories

I bought one of these a few years ago and it worked great on our 1950's hot swap Dell. However, the new one I just received has an offset problem. Quality control seems to have slipped a bit. I used a nap on the screw holes in the board to be able to move the board enough for it to work. Things to do as a last resort when you shouldn't.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Incredible Piggy Bank
