TS431u V2 stopped working after 18 months STAY AWAY

I have 3 TS431u v1's all working great but this TS431u v2 just stopped working after 18 months as all disks were installed hot to the touch and all the lights on the unit were off. After letting the HDD cool down for a few hours I popped them into v1 and thankfully they all work fine. I'm most likely SOL as the warranty has expired. Stay away from these two versions.

Works great and has an extremely fast transfer speed

I use this with 2 Western Digital 2TB green hard drives and boy does the trick for imaging and backups. Pros - Works much better than my Drobo when I don't need as much redundancy and just doing a quick laptop or desktop backup. Instantly recognized by many different BIOSes and compatible with USB 2 and USB 3. The be. cable is a bit short, but it uses a standard power cord that many people have separately.

Very robust hard drive case

I have an older brother of this case, a Silverstone Tek TS432U. This device has built-in RAID functions. I was very happy with it. This time, however, I wanted something simpler, just one case that could fit four different drives. I looked at some of the cheaper models but found too many stories about problems of one kind or another. In the end I decided it was worth paying a little more for the expected quality of this storage tower as I was happy with the build quality of the TS432U. I've had

Great design and support!

I recently bought a new MacPro (dustbin) and one of its key design features is that any additional hard drives/SSDs must be in external storage. I do tons of renders for VFX and motion graphics work, so I regularly fill up gigabytes of renders and switch client HDs. So I needed something simple, stable and bulletproof. I think I found it. My choice fell on Icy Dock ICYCube MB561U3-4S and Silverstone TS431U. Both are NON-RAID JBOD boxes, which was an advantage for me as I have to swap hardโ€ฆ

Very good RAID enclosure

This is a very well designed enclosure. Very easy to set up. Within half an hour of receiving the package, I installed the drives, configured the RAID array, and copied the files to the array. I didn't specifically mention what struck me, the included software. I'm using Windows and haven't checked if there are versions for other platforms. The software allows you to bypass the setting of the hardware switches and any use of the front panel. Install the software, connect the array to yourโ€ฆ
