Type of review

The build quality is excellent. The fans have additional headers and are hot-swappable, which is a big plus. I see several reviews reporting bad backplanes. Make sure you are using the correct cables. I use the drop cable with this chassis with no problems. I also recommend buying rails that are compatible with this case as they make maintenance a lot easier.

Great case. on Computers and accessories

PSA: check the compatibility of your power supply. I bought a Silverstone recommended Silverstone GM800-2Ug power supply but there was no compatible bracket for it. I contacted Silverstone and two months later they made a prototype bracket and sent it to me; The power supply is now secure, but there is still an air gap. Hopefully they have a fully working solution by now (this happened between January and March 2020).

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Minimum rack depth is 23 inches, not 20 inches.

"Tool-less" serrated clamps add about 75mm to a 20" depth and make it impossible to mount on a flatter rack (although at 21.5" I had plenty of room). Despite the table on the Silverstone website for these rails listing dimensions for 18" rails, they also don't appear to exist. If you don't have a square hole rack, it comes with screw hole adapters, but using these will reduce your depth by an additional 48mm (two on each side). Max is just over 28-1/4", whatever that is otherwise they mountโ€ฆ

Cheaply made in racks and cabinets

Second SilverStone Enterprise chassis I've bought and failed the second time. This housing and the recommended rails are made of soft metal. The rails buckled under its weight, which contained only the hard drive, causing severe damage to the case and the rails could no longer be used. The product also claims to be 2U but can also occupy 3U in a rack due to the poor design of the brackets on the chassis rails. Don't buy, look for something else.

Pros
  • Great for a small home

  • Expensive

Great home server starter case

This case is perfect for building FreeNAS, the bays are a bit narrow. Also, the area where the SAS ports are located on the back is a bit cramped with the fans. I would like to see the opening right at these ports. A good SAS HBA card in this case would be an IBM ServeRaid M1015 with IT firmware if you are also using FreeNAS. -4S Discrete to SFF-8087 Reverse Breakout Cable

Pros
  • Finally bought it

  • Annoyed

Not suitable for standard shelves

You listed these products, you collected all reviews for about 10 different products. This is for a basic 2U ATX case. The construction is good, but the holes on the ear mounts don't fit a standard stand. It fits perfectly in 2U, but you have to offset it 1/4U to get 2 of the 3 holes aligned. forces it to record 3U. This case also says it's compatible with an ATX PS/2 power supply, but if there's something wrong with mine then they're crazy. In this case you need an SFX power supply. I wouldโ€ฆ

Outdated design and poor documentation

I would return this case but I have already disposed of the box and collected the rest on the server. Drive bays are 4โ€ณ x 1โ€ณ x 5.75โ€ณ in size. Modern drives are 4" ร— 0.80" ร— 5.75". I broke the drive ejectors trying to align the SATA connectors when installing the drive (documentation might be helpful). I used anti-static foam to secure them between each pane. In my opinion, a case in this price range should have come with some kind of drive cage. If I rebuild this server, will it have a moreโ€ฆ

Decent product, bad documentation

The backplane cannot be integrated with the motherboard to allow for thermal control and/or PWM control. It's actually not that great as the design of this product doesn't allow for good airflow for the rest of the board. The fans run at a low speed, although the passive Quadro NVS 290 gets very hot. I can't find any documentation with instructions on how to set up PWM from the board, nor can I find the cable that connects the PWM fan to the motherboard. The case protection cable is advertisedโ€ฆ

Work's for me - Racks & Cabinets

Despite the above question about ATX PS connections. it's not like this. It hits the MD less than an inch, not to mention the hole isn't big enough. Do not rely on the answers to the questions above. The rims are a little tight, but then again, how often do you change rims? Also, despite the description, these are NOT useless shelves. Not much space for a CPU cooler, but that's 2U. What can you do?No Hassle - No hassle of connecting SATA cables. Pay close attention to the connectors on yourโ€ฆ
