Worked great for my Mini-ITX NES build

Used it as an internal power supply to build a NES gaming pc and it worked great. I wish I could find something smaller but stay away from an external power supply, but this worked pretty well. Note that where the wires come out from the front, the metal is unprotected and will cut into the wires, so I had to add some plastic around the metal edges to protect the wires.

Unbearably loud for computer components

Trust other reviewers - the fan is loud even when idle. Other than that, it's a good unit, so I don't know why they didn't bother to use a decent fan. I will try the fan mod. Edit: I've decided to downgrade it to 1 star. It's too loud. A fan mod is dangerous and will void your warranty. Spend a little more to get a better device like the 7660B - it's worth it. There are many stories on the internet of people shorting out and on fire after trying a fan mod. There are much easier ways to save…

I agree it's quite noisy. How to replace a fan.

Suitable for Goodisory A02 case with MSI B450i Gaming Plus AC mainboard. I was skeptical about the reviews that said it was very noisy. This is my first PC build and I figured everyone would just be spoiled for expensive, high quality PSUs that are virtually silent. I was wrong. The noise is very noticeable and almost impossible to ignore when your tower is on your table. I think it's not so much the volume as the tonality/pitch. It almost sounds like a small drill. I also decided to dare to…

super loud DO NOT BUY.

I bought this because I had a lot of experience with Silverstone in the past and knew I could count on their reliability. The fan on this PSU is so loud it literally sounds like a jet engine. The rest of my build is relatively quiet, but this thing screams and is a real nightmare for an ITX build. DO NOT BUY. Edit - followed the others and replaced the standard fan with noctua. It really helped lower the noise level.

A bit noisy, hard cables. Mod fan!

available If you are experienced with computer hardware, you may know that a computer is not inherently very noisy unless it is dusty, cheap or heavily used. This power supply makes a noise that I wouldn't call "annoying," but it's definitely there. It's like the sound of a tower fan in your room which is quite old; it's not annoying, but it's not soothing like white or brown noise. Aside from the noise, the cables are sturdy. I haven't built it into my ITX case yet, but using this PSU as a…

Works well but the fan is very noisy

Although this device works fine for my system (Ryzen 3600, 1650 Super), the built-in fan is very noisy. I bought a spare 40mm Noctua for it and tried connecting it to the main power board but found that the fan connector didn't have enough power to power the Noctua. Luckily the PSU has exposed fans at the top and bottom, so I just routed the Noctua fan cable through the top of the PSU and connected it to the motherboard. A bit crap, but for the price I can't really complain. If noise isn't a…

Quiet enough for a living room 1U NAS

Some people claim the fan is noisy but I had no problems with the fan at all. I might not be drawing around 350W, but I'd say it's a lot quieter than the super micro PSU in a 1U server. I think I'll use 80W at best since it's primarily a NAS, but in a residential area, quiet was number one, which is why I went with it. Maybe some people had bad fans or pulled the full 350w but I picked a Noctua fan based on what people said but ended up not using it. YMMV.
