I almost love it - shooting

Good scope with excellent clarity and easy focusing. The only criticism is the eyepiece. It is very difficult to focus the eye and not see black around the edges.

Pros
  • Hard plastic case for safe storage of scope and tripod
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Incredible clarity even at maximum magnification and even compared to $2,800 Swarovski. I chose Simmons. I've looked around for spotting scopes and done a ton of research, read reviews, watched videos and ended up in the athlete's camp comparing riflescopes of all price points and just couldn't believe I finally settled on the Simmons Venture 20 -60 x 80mm, much less than it costs around $160 and comes with a soft case and a Pelican style hard case, a table tripod and great lockable lens caps…

Pros
  • Sport Type: Hunting
Cons
  • Upgrade available

Good for an amateur. at least.

Please note that this review is for the 20-60X x80 Simmons Venture Tilt. Unfortunately, Simmons or SOMEBODY flooded this product's listing with so many fake reviews that it has become so unbelievable that Revain is only listing it for verified purchases. I got mine from the Sportsman warehouse where I compared it to Leupold, Swarovski, and Vortex scopes (from the inside to all sorts of stuff at the store). My eyes are in my 60s, I'm not a professional photographer or sniper, and this was…

Pros
  • Soft carrying case protects scope and tripod for easy portability in the field
Cons
  • Expensive

What a surprise! for spotting scopes

This old bird still has some of the original low power hunting scopes that Simmons made back in the day. I always wondered why my dad had a 4x Leupold scope on his .22 gauge and I had a Simmons 4X. While Simmons did an acceptable job, it was in no way comparable to Leupold. Of course, my father's .22 rifle was vastly superior to the Sears model he bought me. But believe me, at the age of 10 I was absolutely thrilled to be able to go squirrel hunting. And since I trained at the local arsenal all

Pros
  • Sturdy tabletop tripod with integrated window mount for stable viewing
Cons
  • Damaged
