Best for paper sewing

I teach paper sewing and this parchment is my number one choice for pattern making. Students prefer this paper to other types of base paper because they can see the placement of the pieces of fabric before they start sewing. When printing, remove each page as it exits the printer and let it dry. Otherwise, ink smearing will occur slightly. Make sure the stitch length is shorter than normal so the stitches don't tear when the paper is removed.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I'll write later

Comparison with other parchment paper

I ordered this paper along with a pack of "Vellum Value Pack 8.5"X11" 50/pkg-Clear from Darice to compare. There were only 30 sheets in Simple Foundations and the other pack I ordered was 50 sheets (so cheaper!) I mean they are both exactly the same Same weight same clear color Decided to share them because I'm sure someone will asked if there might be a less expensive option, I've been planning to keep both packages since I opened them.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • High Price

Very good!

I saw this product in one of my craft classes. I have been a paper cutter for over 25 years and interested. It's great to be able to draw/print the warp threads and see the sewing lines through the parchment to help with placement and pre-cut the patches more accurately. I think this product might be overpriced for a large project - newsprint or very thin carbon paper is almost as good - but if money weren't an issue I'd use it exclusively. If money is an issue, buy a pack to use on very small…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others
