Single Automatic Watch Winder Box By CHIYODA With Solid Wood Construction, Mabuchi Motors And Battery/AC Power Options Review

When my wife's watch winder's motor gave out, it was time for a new one. This winder looked to fit the bill perfectly. When it arrived, I found that it worked perfectly on battery (not included) power but stopped when the AC adapter was plugged into the winder. A quick check with a multimeter revealed that the AC adapter was defective. I contacted the seller and a replacement AC adapter was quickly sent. Great customer service and great product.

At first, the company seemed responsive, but they have done nothing to help me fix the problem. I have been very patient with them, now I am outside of the warranty coverage (according to ebay). I spent $75 on this very nice looking box that does not work, and I cannot get a response from the company.Don't waste your time or money on this if you want to keep your watch wound. OMG!I bought this piece with much doubt. My wife's Rolex stops every 8 hours. I had it fixed, it lasted a couple of years. To spend another $1000, I was hesitant. Edit: customer service was very prompt with replacing my unit. Seems to be working nowThe finish of the winder is beautiful. And when its running you can barely hear it, if at all. There are multiple settings that work with just about any type of mechanical watch. It is easy to get the watch in and out of the winder. Overall I was very happy with my purchase up until it stopped working. I hope they offer a solution otherwise I'll have to try something more reliable.

Seems good, first winder I’ve bought.But it is now making some sort of intermittent high pitched squeal or alarm sound. What is causing this? If I turn it off and back on, noise stops.

Watch winder has a great appearance. Well put together in fit and finish. Veneer is nice and controls on the back are gold colored. Switches for setting rotation and duration work smoothly. Have run for one week now in bedroom and is very quiet.

Ordered in August 2018, dead as of today. Now it’s just a display case with a cord.

This watch winder runs all the time and works perfectly. The Motor is quiet and has never quit. To add to this my time pieces are always on time and don't have more than a few seconds difference from real time even after being on the winder for months.

I love this watch winder, it looks very modern and elegant. I love that it’s very quiet, and it has nice turn per day setting, so far I only use setting 4 which is 650 turns per day. I checked a lot of winders and this one had good reviews, and the customer service seems fairly well from when other people had problems, plus the price for it is such a great value.

This product looks great and is made really well. My only real problem with the Chiyoda is that I own a Rolex and they have a wrist band that you set to your wrist size then leave alone. They are not adjustable like "belt” style of wrist bands. In order to fit your watch properly to the watch holding pillow on the Chiyoda - you would need to adjust your band each time you placed on the pillow. One of my sons is a watch collector and frequently complains that they are not staying wound when not being worn. My troubleshooting search lead me to this watch winder. I had no idea such a thing existed!. The box is beautifully crafted in black and wood grain, making it a wonderful gift. It is working as it should - no more complaints from my son about his watches going down. It runs very quietly and has different settings. Wonderful gift!

No complaints. feels like decent construction. This holds my automatic when I won't be wearing it for a day or two. My only trivial complaint is it's a bit large for one watch, they should have added a drawer for cufflink/ rings with all that space at the bottom.

This is a nice piece of wood that looks great on the dresser. Once we experimented with settings it is working well. The directions don't exactly explain how to set the watch in but we figured it out. This is real wood. It is very quiet but yes you do hear it very slightly. If the watch is low on battery, it takes a long time to charge it. We have had it on the charger for a month and without wearing it, the charger will maintain the level where your watch is when inserted. It is more or so…

Very nicely made and reasonably quiet. Materials appear of good quality and craftsmanship is good. It's too soon to comment on durability/longevity but quite satisfied so far.

There appears to be quality control issues. The edges of the case lack paint. Almost looks like an effort wal made to touch up the errors post production. Bare edge very noticeable. Additionally the pivot hinges are binding. It requires some force to open and close the door. I expect the door to break over time. Not sure if these issues are a fault in manufacturing or shipping. Generally the winder appears to mechanically function. The door hinges however are a significant issue.

This watch winder looks great and overall seems to be made very well. After owning for a few months my one complaint is that the motor has become louder over time. It started totally silent and now makes a low whir while winding. This is not the end of the world as I don't find it particularly bothersome, but it does concern me about the long term durability and integrity of the winder. I guess we will see.

So far I’ve had it a month and it’s working just fine. Keeps my Breitling Evolution on time feels nice to not have to wind my watch when it’s sits for a long period of time.

the Power cable will not plug into the back of the unit because it was either broken off, or came loose In shipping. I will try to take the thing apart to try to fix it. Hopefully it’s a simple fix, it looks like it screws into the metal washer that was loose in the box when I opened it. I went through two different winders that didn't work after my original one died and neither of the two new ones would keep my Oris automatic wound.
