🦌 SITKA Traverse Optifade Country Medium: A Hunting Essential for Optimal Camouflage Review

I used this on a 6 day moose hunt in eastern Oregon in early November. The weather was quite cold, 20-50 degrees, with intermittent rain and snow. Traverse Zip-T is a great mid layer, very durable and very comfortable. I had no problem wearing it with just the base layer when hiking and covering it up with the Jetstream jacket when sitting for long periods. The shirt even withstood light rain/snow and I just hung it up overnight and it was dry the next morning. Great shift, worth every penny.

I either carried or had this in my hunting pack from early morning and late afternoon moose and deer hunts in September to late moose hunts in late December. It's a really comfy, warm layer that every hunter needs. I test Gore-Tex gear and one of my favorite pieces of gear that I own.

As a product tester for Gore and other companies, I know the gear and good gear is important to me. This top lived up to my expectations and has been worn all along the East Coast in slats and flooded wood. It's warm and well made. The design is just right for a mid-layer model that can double as outerwear on those warm pre-season days. The single pocket is a thoughtful bonus to what is essentially a layered piece.

I tried several other tops but ended up feeling very bulky and unable to move. This material and cut allows me to move freely and stay warm. As a Gore product tester, I can say this is best used with a skin-to-skin layer that helps wick sweat and keep you warm. It's the perfect thing when the weather turns chilly.
