Ordered a size 6 for my 8 year old son because a size 7 was too big. JUST BECAUSE the front strings ARE NOT ADJUSTABLE otherwise a 7 would fit him perfectly! All swim trunks need an adjustable cord as each baby's waist is different.

These board shorts are very large for a size 5, my kid would need an extra 20lbs to even come close to putting them on but of course he was very excited and was immediately ripped off the tags , so we stayed with them. The drawstring is purely decorative and is literally sewn together, so there's no way to tighten the waist at all. My 8 year old son tried them on and the waist was too big even for him.

These are pretty good swim trunks but I wanted to warn others that the drawstring doesn't work and is just a decoration on the pants. So these pants are not adjustable at all. Otherwise good quality, nice color and fit as expected. The back of the pants, where there is an elastic band, stretches a bit, but there is no adjustable drawstring. Also, don't try to untie the fake top knot as it is sewn to your pants.
