Not OK Men: Shoes

These are just decent shoes, nothing valuable. This pair was meant to replace my Converses as they don't seem to be in the shoe store anymore. I liked these shoes so much I wore them for too long. The wide Sketcher version fits my foot well and the sizing seems accurate. Although they are not very comfortable. I thought they would be very similar to my sketcher trainers which are to die for as they are memory foam sketchers - like walking on clouds. It's nothing like that. There's the thinnest…

Pros
  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • Hard to tell

The shoes are really easy to wear but still comfortable.

The shoes are comfortable and fit well, but as many other reviewers have noted, they start to wrinkle in places where fingers bend when walking. These photos were taken after wearing these shoes for just a 4 hour work shift, literally only 4 HOURS of use and they are already wrinkling badly. I also did a sizing survey to see if my wide feet would be an issue and ordered the size they gave me. That was a mistake because I ended up buying an XW and returning the regular ones I bought because they

Pros

Cons
  • There are flaws

Suitable for production

This is my second pair, the last pair was worn for over a year. I work in a machine shop, the floors are covered with polyurethane, so slip resistance is a must. The shoe resists oil and steel chips well. They felt good to the bitter end. Great work shoes.

Takes abuse very well

Old couple is over a year old. This is the third couple in 3 years. I keep buying them for my husband, not because they're worn out, but because they last a year and he's at a construction site. A bonus is the slip resistance when mounting a metal roof. They have "good traction on metal roofs" but the downside is that "they hold a lot of mud in the tread".

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Long lasting if kept dry

I've been buying the same pair of shoes over and over for years. I'm a curmudgeon, so I save the last pair and have been known to use the right boot from one pair and the left boot from the other when they're worn out to wear out for another month or so before I buy new ones These shoes will last around 18-24 months if you don't wet them regularly. I think at some point they changed the glue or the manufacturing process. They used to last 8-14 months with regular wetting. The last few pairs…

Wears out FAST in healthcare and hospitality

I'm a chef and I work at least 40 hours a week full time, all on my feet. I expect most shoes will not last long but I only bought these on the 4th of January and they NEEDED to be replaced within 90 days. The insoles have been removed. Shoes chipped and faded. They lasted and I love the way they look, but 90 days is ridiculous. I can't justify ever going back to these shoes.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors are here
