💻 Optimized Industrial Computer - Passive Skiving Heatsink Review

It's 15 ounce copper and actually finned right, it's not a block of CNC fins. The only problem is that the backplate doesn't clean up a lot of the soldering points on the back of the Itx motherboard I wanted to use it and find it uncomfortable that the foam protects against short circuits so haven't tried it yet but very nicely finished just for not suitable for my application.

I had high hopes for this quiet cooling option in a small form factor PC. Unfortunately it didn't work very well on my AMD A8-7600 (max TDP 65W). The temperature only rose to almost 80 degrees Celsius when idling. Even with a fan, it only withstood a drop of about 5 degrees. Double check the thermal paste application to make sure I didn't have any air pockets. I was very surprised given its quality (heavy base, pure copper).

I decided to try this CPU cooler for PC with media center. The main idea was to buy a very low-power processor that doesn't need fans, just outdoor ventilation. The results initially seemed promising. The CPU I chose wasn't particularly powerful at 35 W, but it stayed relatively cool.
