We are retired cops and have replaced our regular white driveway lights with blue ones. They are really beautiful light blue! From a distance they look very good. Bought the kit from Walmart and could only get 13W so they were pretty weak. Just hope they don't attract too many bugs when the weather changes, but it's fine if that's the case.

I have been using stylish blue bulbs for 12 years. They are bigger and much stronger. I don't even know if they are even meant for indoor use. Get 13 watts when using them indoors. I used it in the bedroom and 15 minutes later I heard a loud bang and it completely blew my circuit breaker and everything went off. It may also have destroyed my lamp. I haven't checked yet. Even then something burned smelled. Again, they sell a 13-watt version that's just as bright.

I leave this porch 24/7 because it uses so little electricity and also reflects my support for our local law enforcement agencies - which means I eventually will too, practically accurately tell how many hours a lightbulb lasts. I like the deeper shade of blue - it's a calming color with an even spread of light that doesn't seep into neighbors' windows. Some neighbors are also advised not to use bright lights.
