This tripod exceeds expectations in every respect.

We are very happy with the build, ease of use and ability to handle anything we put on it including the rather large and heavy spotting scope which it holds effortlessly. This is the second example of this variety that we have purchased [our latest model is larger and more adaptable] and now it's safe to say that if we need another one [which is unlikely given the build of this model] you can believe it. that we will be looking for a replacement for Slik: along with the many other products they

Great tripod for my needs.

I recently bought a 30# tripod. He wouldn't hold my 1/2 lighter rig. I decided to try this Slik and I'm very glad I did. I needed to be able to mount my 500mm, 5 DSR, batteries and the occasional flash. This tripod held up better than any other I've used. I quickly relied on it. The legs are large, the latches do not slip under load. The head and camera mount is solid. There is no buyer's regret here. The only thing that came close to this tripod was my video tripod, which cost a lot more and…

Very strong tripod for tripods and monopods

I wanted a sturdy tripod that I could take with me on the field. I've spent a lot of time learning about different tripods. I wanted something that was well tested, had good reviews, and wouldn't break the bank. The Manfrotto seemed to be a favorite of many photographers, but the price of the most popular was more than I was willing to pay. Then I stumbled across Slik and read some reviews. The Slik was "field tested", highly rated, very durable and priced exactly how I wanted it. Haven't used…

Tough, tall tripod with great panning at a great price

Great tripod. Strong, strong and big. The tripod head keeps my 9 pound camcorder secure and stable, as well as my 7 inch monitor and shotgun mic, and the multi-directional quick-attach is a great feature. I don't have to worry about panning over. And yes, I know a lot of videographers don't recommend tripod heads like this for video work, but I like having TWO handles on the tripod head instead of just one. can be found on most liquid head tripods as it gives me better control over panning. I…

Ideal for large spotting scopes

My wife is a serious bird watcher. I bought her a large spotting scope (100mm lens, 22X-66X, about Β£5) for her birthday and wanted to give her a tripod that not only could handle the size and weight, but was also very strong to absorb vibration to reduce to a minimum. . . at high magnification. I also wanted a fairly tall tripod so it doesn't lengthen the center column, which can reduce vibration dampening. We tested the scope on my good carbon fiber tripod with Manfrotto ball head and found…
