Rescuer! for stabilizers

I bought this setup when I broke the hot shoe mount on my camera and it was the best purchase I've ever made. I was still able to use my camera with multiple mounting points.

Fits on my tripod!

I've come across some small rig cages that didn't fit my Benro GD3WH gearhead. This particular little setup works great and fits great. Very happy with the purchase.

Versatility and security in one camera rig. Great work

Without a doubt the best camera mount accessory I have bought in 10 years. I have attachments and dowel pins that offer a new level of versatility and security.

Pros
  • Everything is great!

Expensive but great

The EOS-R Smalrig cage is the most expensive for reasons I can't figure out. But even at $100 I think it's worth it. This makes it difficult to capture video, but there are so many places a cage can fit.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Only available in white

Very impressed with the best accessories

Tried with other brands of cages but the build quality and metal used is very impressive. Love the fact that the handle part is smooth and made in such a way that you can take photos without removing the cage.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Non-automatic

Nearly perfect! for camera and photography

This is a great cage with lots of useful features and points to build on. It's amazingly comfortable to hold, yet gives you access to everything you need. One annoying design I don't like is that you can't sit on it with anything other than a pancake lens without falling off. Not a big deal but definitely annoying as I don't want to always put it on a tripod when not in use.

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Okay for the most part, but...

Usual SmallRig quality

I recently upgraded to an EOS R and as always needed a cage for my grip and field monitor. I assume a CNC machined part is reliable. I've never liked half cages or other brands that offer two or more pieces together as they flex noticeably. In this version, the hot shoe area is lower so the bottom of the flash doesn't get bumped when I take a picture. My 6D MKii's cage was high enough to get hit and I had to push the flash up a bit. I will add my wish list for SmallRig when they change the…

Complete design flaw

This cage is a complete disaster and the person who designed it should be fired.1. The camera can only be used from the front. That means if you have a lens that is slightly larger than the frame (e.g. 24-70/2.8 RF) you will need to remove the lens first. So much pain for nothing if the cage is made a little bigger.2. The screw on the bottom has no lever, so always have a coin with you to tighten the screw.3. The non-slip pad on the bottom is so small that it doesn't hold the camera firmly. You
