Review on SmallRig CCC2803 Camera Cage for Canon EOS R with Built-in Cold Shoe and Anti-Twist Design by Jared Bradford

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Complete design flaw

This cage is a complete disaster and the person who designed it should be fired.1. The camera can only be used from the front. That means if you have a lens that is slightly larger than the frame (e.g. 24-70/2.8 RF) you will need to remove the lens first. So much pain for nothing if the cage is made a little bigger.2. The screw on the bottom has no lever, so always have a coin with you to tighten the screw.3. The non-slip pad on the bottom is so small that it doesn't hold the camera firmly. You must tighten the screw as much as possible, otherwise it will always move.4. The Arca-Swiss rail below is not open. If you use "Fall Prevention" /modified tripod mount like my Vanguard you can't put a cage in it. because the rail is closed at both ends. The only option is to install a regular Arca-Swiss rail from below, but what's the point of this rail? Failure, error, mistake. very bad technique. I would give zero stars if I could.
