So it holds bars well, but the screw holes are oddly placed so I can screw it to just about anything by finding a position that suits me almost impossible to give him two. I love small rig products, but this one is a little disappointing. I was hoping it would be more general, but it seems (as advertised) to be for the specific models listed, at least for better compatibility.

I bought this plate because I needed something simple and compact for my setup. I've included a few photos showing the plate connected to a common cage and bar to get a good view of the gap. The base plate also attaches to Manfrotto's quick release plate and fluid head. I used two screws to attach it to the cage so it's pretty tight there. This baseplate is well built and I think it's great value for the money.

I use this on my Blackmagic Pocket 6k rig. Strangely, the underside of the camera has a vent at the bottom. So when you set up a tripod, close the fan and the camera starts to heat up. It was the perfect solution. I can mount it all the way to the camera and then attach it to the tripod base and it mounts without blocking the fan! It is not necessary to have all the shoulder gear.

I would like Revain to place an icon next to the product page that you want to buy. a garage icon, for example if you get something like a guy's garage, not a new item from the factory. It has screw marks on it. I'm too tired to send it back. I'll try to get it working but this has happened a few times. If that happens enough, I only buy used online sites. It is very offensive to send someone a used item when they think it is new.

Is this a quality camera stand for follow focus setup or if you are building a shoulder rig? I use this with Panasonic G7 and their Smallrig cage. It works --- But in my use case: the bar installed on the side of the battery door prevents the door from opening fully to remove the battery. (It does, however, open wide enough to eject the SD card). A good solution would be a DCC8-Coupler Battery Mockup. Otherwise, do not install the rod on the side of the battery door. UPDATE 20170413 Still happy with small rig equipment. Years later it works great. Happy with their carbon rails. This is such a great product! I've spent a lot more for a lot less. This is now my main base for my fs7, replacing a much more frustrating and expensive build. My favorite feature of this base is that it easily attaches to the bottom of the camera with two screws to prevent twisting. It can be removed completely from the camera quickly and easily to change the tripod on the Glidecam.

I really like that I have a track base and top and bottom plates. I just wish it had more holes to accommodate more screw configurations. Like most Smallrig products, this one is well suited for the budget conscious shooter. I can attach a tripod base from below. The rails fit perfectly and in width. Love this 15mm baseplate. It's easy to attach a quick release plate with 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 threads on the bottom. You can even mount with 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threads if your quick plate has both.
