What are DVDs mainly used for?

I mostly burn to DVD which interests me. Like movies, news, etc. etc. However, in all my years of DVD burning, have I ever come across a DVD of such poor quality with so many discs that it gave me such a headache. So much arson is just unacceptable. The main problem is omissions.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Tape

Good buy DVD-Rs

This is a blank DVD so I feel like I got what I ordered. The price was a good price for the count. They recorded what I needed so I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a DVD to burn.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

Poor electronics

I've used 4 of these drives and one has failed but that may have been my fault. I suggest formatting the drive first and exiting the project and closing the session when done. And make sure you don't turn off your computer until the process is complete. I used disks from random places in the stack. I've also used several different laptops. Be careful when opening the packaging. There is no spindle in the middle. I opened them up on my bed and they weren't all getting enough sleep as someone…

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Some imperfections

I am extremely disappointed in these discs

Extremely disappointed with these discs. I recently opened them for use and my computer often doesn't recognize them in the media tray. (I've also tried several other computers with the same result) From time to time I was able to save my work, but then the recording would not complete. As I ordered them some time ago I am not waiting for a refund or replacement just wanted to let you know that this product has some imperfections. Thank you Paul Leps.

Pros
  • DVD-R Discs
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Love the fact that there is NO product logo/brand.

I love that there is NO product logo/brand/nothing but spaces on the disc! I record a lot and put my notes on discs. It's nice not to be distracted by lines and logos. The downside is I've had a pair that didn't erupt. I'm used to getting them from Memorex and Sony from time to time, but with these . and check after a few weeks. I'm almost done with the stack and aside from these two, life is great!

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Expandable

LOSS OF MONEY

Traditionally, suppliers include a bearing spindle. Not with this purchase. There were also no warnings about this fact. And three layers of nasty adhesive wrap and one layer of branded shrink wrap to replace that lost spindle housing. In the first box I opened, I lost 22 discs in an accident while "unpacking" on a dusty floor. Of the surviving undamaged discs, 1 was rotten (seriously, how long did they sit idle before disc rot showed up?!), and about 1 out of 8 failed to record. It might seem…

Pros
  • Accessories and consumables
Cons
  • Almost never
