heavy duty except toe

very heavy duty sock - except the toes need some work, like other smart wool socks the fabric wears out in the toe area first but trust me you'll still get a solid 150+ miles ahead the downsides begin

Pros
  • Weight: Heavy
Cons
  • Requires rosette

These socks make great outerwear

These socks are thick, soft and provide arch support. I love her. These are the only socks I will wear in winter to keep warm. I think they run a bit small. I wear a large men's sock and about 9 men's shoes.

Pros
  • Made in the USA
Cons
  • Expensive

They feel great.: Outerwear

They feel great. Thick socks have a lot of padding under the foot. I've bought these socks from a variety of vendors before. Tufts of wool will fall out, so wear and tear will show over time, but as new socks they're hard to beat except for the price. They aren't cheap.

Pros
  • Wool, Nylon, Spandex
Cons
  • Almost never

New Favorite Socks Fall Winter Spring

I love Merino wool socks, but heels usually wear out after a season or two. I've only had them for a season, but they seem to be holding up remarkably well. These are some of the most comfortable socks I've ever worn. The price is high but they feel great and I hope to benefit from them for many years to come. I will update if I find holes in the soles. hopefully in many years!

Pros
  • Material: 68% Wool, 30% Nylon, 2% Elastane
Cons
  • Weight

Properties are good but short-lived.

The quality has been dropping lately. I have been a regular customer for many years because the socks were high quality and lasted forever. Unfortunately the last three pairs I bought had holes in various places. One pair developed a hole after two washes and was returned. The other two wore out more slowly, but still too quickly for socks over $20 a pair. There are better socks in this price range, they are damn stiff, so I won't be buying Smartwool again.

Pros
  • Machine washable
Cons
  • Volume
