This helmet is not suitable if you have long hair as the four yellow tabs holding the MIPS insert (see photo) will immediately press against your hair and get tangled up. On the cheaper Smith Convoy helmet, these lugs are partially covered with padding, but on this Session there is almost no padding and the lugs are exposed. (And there are no extra pads in the box like some helmets do.)

This helmet offers good protection at the back of the head (required in the event of a fall if you fall backwards and land feet up) and over the entire skull. The visor is very low and offers the best sun protection I have ever had from a bike helmet. The chin strap is easily adjustable, as is the back tension. It took about 5 minutes to get the helmet ready to use and has been working fine ever since.

If you want a stylish looking helmet over the top this is the product for you. I tried to convince myself that the pain wasn't that bad. I've had several serious accidents where my helmet saved my life and the lack of cushioning and fit I just can't believe.
