They must have changed that. The size of the lower drawer has changed - it has become shorter in height and slightly shorter in length. So now the lid rests on the CD cases and not on the storage box. When you fold them, you put a lot of pressure on the CD cases. Apparently they made the bottom part smaller - probably to save a few cents each. But now the product is useless. I've read all the reviews on here and some of them were a bit concerned about latch alignment and other issues. So I bought 2 to try and I have to say they fit me perfectly. And I thought I could only fit 60 CDs in it. I managed to get 70 of these, some of which aren't full jewel cases, but even then I know I got over 60 with jewel cases. I found them easy to put together and perfect for me to tuck under our bed. and no longer take up as much space in the previous furniture. I am buying 8 more…

They changed it completely. We released a pair that was perfect and popular about 3 years ago which is the reason for the mostly outstanding average reviews for this product. The size of the bottom box has changed - the latches don't match, so it pulls the material a little more on top and then it's not even on the sides. DVD and CD cases are generally excellent: they're strong, easy to assemble and fold well. I would give the DVD boxes in particular 5 stars - no complaints. However, CD boxes have one caveat that you might want to be aware of. For DVD boxes, the top of most DVDs (with the exception of Collector's Editions and similar slightly larger boxes) sits just below the top edges of the box. It's also worth noting that I now have 4 of these and I haven't had a single issue with the latches not holding. They all snap into place and hold up perfectly as intended so this is not a design/product oversight at all as it may be a fault on some received. Initially I was very happy with my purchase. I wanted to store vacation DVDs, VHS tapes in boxes, and VHS tapes in big plastic boxes. The DVD storage boxes held DVDs and VHS tapes with cardboard sleeves but not plastic sleeves, so I tried that size and it worked. I even regret that I didn't just order this size.
