Well balanced and reduced wrist impact.

Good grip and weight balance. Due to the copper head, the impact force is significantly lower than that of a steel head hammer.

Copperhead!: Hammers

The Copperhead reduces the power going back to your hand, so it's an option but costs more; If you have a large tent or need to tie in a lot of pegs, take it and save your hand. A stylish hammer from Japan

High quality Japanese steel and copper are ideal for driving Snow Peak tent stakes into the ground. I also like the fact that there is a catch to retrieve the Snow Peak missions.

Buy one - don't lose it - you'll be glad you did

Not a very heavy hammer but heavy enough to work with and carry around. A big plus is the loop that easily and securely holds the hammer in your hand. Pulling out the stakes is also very useful. Recommended for large tarps as they are easy to carry and serve multiple functions.

Great addition to my travel set

OK it's an expensive hammer but it's a really good expensive hammer. I had a few bucks more and decided to shell out for my camping gear. Would happily buy again as this is enough for a lifetime. The stake puller is a great feature, as is the copper finish. Only you can prevent forest fires!

Good quality for hammers

Works well with #20 and #30 snow spikes. Tape helps with leverage when removing pegs. The copper head breaks but looks like it will last a long time. Also good for making arrowheads thanks to the copper tip. I recommend. Update - I've been using the hammer for three years now. Over 30 camps and still holding out. The copper is a bit worn but still works. I get a lot of comments about the hammer.

Very thoughtful design

A long time ago, almost a decade ago, I reviewed hand tools and evaluated prototypes. Since then I've done it very rarely, but this hammer is an example of excellent functional design and even decent aesthetics. I am committed to encouraging others to study this tool to become familiar with what great tool design is. It's not perfect - the Japanese-style handle, technically flattened, octagonal, is too square for a comfortable and secure grip (although the straight-grain wood is knobbed and the

Great time! best in Power & Hand Tools

So far so good! I've used a copper headed Snow Peak Peg Hammer to pound tent pegs on 3 hikes and hammer nails to power my house. The copper head definitely makes a difference when it comes to directional power, and its lightness and efficiency has enabled a whole new level of bearing setup helpers, eliminating the need for a heavy sled even in difficult and rocky terrain. It's not as loud as the rattling of two metal pipes, and the shape is unique. The brass head WILL be affected by any impact…
