This single rod cutter is great. A little assembly is required (a thumbscrew, washer and nut) and you're done. Mine came with two extra wires and some mica samples. It took me less than a minute to assemble the soap and start cutting. Smooth, even, perfect cuts on every pole. It worked great the first time and seems to be very well put together. Not too heavy but very durable. I would buy this cutter again at any time.

Started seasonal soap making and wanted to cut a weekend cooked bread. I bought this cutter a year ago and decided to use it thinking it would help make the cuts even and save time. Directly at the gate, the piece that adjusts to the width of the soap does not sit flush with the support bar. I can live with it. What I can't handle is that the cutter falls apart on the first cut and parts fly off. Well out of warranty so no returns. A complete waste of money.

Soap bar installed with a noticeable 1/4 inch misalignment. I contacted the manufacturer for an exchange as suggested on the packing list. The explanation was unclear: either it was accidentally installed during production, or on purpose to compensate for the cutting arm slippage.
