Said to be waterproof and that was my main reason for buying it. This is definitely not the case, any drips will fall right through them onto your furniture. I bought a sofa, an armchair and a chair cover. The straps they were held by lasted maybe a week before immediately detaching from the cases. Do yourself a favor and try a different brand. This is my second sofa cover from this company, my first one in over a year and they work great for my family. We have a 140 lb dog with a wobbler so accidents happen while sleeping on the couch. I only give 3 stars. I would like to say that this was the solution I was looking for but there is one major design flaw, even with the tape running around the sides at the back to hold the top up, the top keeps slipping after a while still on the seat and not enough to keep it. I'm going to sew some fabric loops or tubing to the top back for the elastic to slide in and this should keep the back cover from falling off. I renew this thing every day! I bought this mainly to protect our couch from the claws of two very fierce young large breed dogs who like to use the couch to do laps like a velodrome at full speed. Update: This is awful. The loops you need to attach the harness to are very flimsy and poorly secured. Ours was already broken, although we didn't even lay on the couch most of the time we owned it.
