These shorts run very small. My son is 6 years old and growing normally. He wears 10/12 clothes. I ordered these shorts in a size Med 10/12 thinking they would fit. The shorts fit like boxer shorts. Medium fits like 8/9 with other brands.

The ones that arrived were shorter than they were and since it's not worth sending back we use them as boxer shorts. Bought a similar red pair which we really liked but these black ones were only cheap once.

Average size was a little big for my 8 year old but too small for my 12 year old which is true to size according to the size chart. Both of my kids are skinny so I recommend ordering a size up from the chart. Otherwise they are of good quality and look good.

I love these shorts. A great option for my two children. Especially for my tall boy as he has a hard time finding shorts that fit him. With other brands, size L would be so long that my tall boy would look ridiculous. I like light colors and materials (lightweight cotton). Lightweight shorts are perfect for this heat. I bought about five pairs of these shorts for my eight year old son to wear as pajama shorts.
