When increasing the size of a pattern, actual human proportions should be used. In larger sizes, as in this dress, it is often ignored. Adding extra length is often helpful, but having sleeves extended to fingertip length in a 4x garment is ridiculous. I sent it back. The fabric was okay, stretchy and soft, but sleeves and length made it a no-go.

For what it is, I really like this. It fits very well, stretches when you need it to, and the pattern is classic and rich in color. I've washed it three times now and hang it to dry. The garment is pretty shapeless and a little more sheer than expected but almost perfect for what I wanted. I got this to be a "shift” dress. You know something you throw on as you shift about the house or your errands. You can definitely jazz it up with a statement necklace and vest for a comfy brunch or chill dinner. I am short and wear plus sizes. This dress is long but just barely didn’t drag the ground with whatever shoes I wore. My hair was simply pulled back. It fits well. The color is really bright almost an orange instead of red. Out of the package there are black stains. The material is soft but you can see through it. It’s too late for me to return and get a replacement in time for Christmas.
