My astronomy/telescope skills are not good enough to judge the quality of this film compared to other options but I used it to test a filter 8 inch telescope to make for me and have gotten some very satisfying sunspot shots without frying my camera so it's definitely working for me. Removed color in atmosphere that day and adjusted levels to show more contrast in visible elements; The filter doesn't seem to add any unusual or unpleasant colors to the sun.

This filter worked fantastic! I used some tape and cardboard and made a cover for one of my telescopes. The sun looks yellow-orange through the filter and I could see a few sunspots. This saved me a lot of money! Update **** So the leaf was enough for me to make 2 solar filters.
