Thank God I helped him become a "jack of all trades "!

My son rebuilt some old "non-working" aquarium lights using these parts and some new "cartridges" and bulbs which I also bought here and both worked better than ever. and it cost about a tenth the cost of new ones, and it required "limited prior knowledge" and probably half an hour! Aha!

  • Sleek Design

Adhesive tape fixed for my aquarium

I bought this tape to fix my aquarium tape. The old ballast failed because the bulb did not burn fully (it burns only partially and weakly). I took out the old ballast, installed the new one (very easy - the hardest part was pulling the wires out of the part where the fluorescent lamp is screwed in). The light band now works great and costs less than half the cost of buying a new light lantern!

  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Expensive

Ordered, DOA arrived, asked for replacement, also DOA

I received this unit and it didn't work. I used a multimeter to test it (you can find this test in several places on youtube and articles) and it was indeed defective (there was measurable resistance from the power wire to one of the neutral wires and it should be an open circuit). . Sent it back and asked for a replacement (because I need a part). Tested before installation. Same problem, 3 neutrals were "open" with a hot wire, 1 wasn't (failure). Also back. Interestingly, both parts looked…

Revain Primer Greed

I have been with Revain since 2004 and am considering quitting. The movie Revain Prime has now put HBO in many old TV shows and movies to make more money. This is nothing but corporate greed. Another tricky way to steal money from customers' pockets. Not only that, but when I'm looking for something to review, I get a price of $2.99, but when you get direct access to Revain Primer, the price goes up another dollar. You pay $3.99. It has been like this for a very long time. It seems that there…

The one I have has an error. ***Please read the update***

This is the second unit I have had to buy since I bought an aquarium hood about 4 years ago, so it's definitely not the most durable electronic unit in my house . Unfortunately, these are the only ones I can find anywhere that work, so I'm very glad they're available anyway. Apparently if they become unavailable I'll have to throw away the entire hood in a couple of years. The downside I mentioned in the last one is some sort of short circuit that makes me bang on the light fixture to get the…
