Sonax 236941 Ceramic Coating CC36 Review

I've been using Sonax CC36 Ceramic Coating on customers cars for about 9 months now. In that time I've learned a lot of little tips and tricks to make the application much smoother and easier to work with. Humidity plays a huge factor in application. Reason for 4 star rating is for the following- inconsistent instructions on the box, videos (which I ended using my own for step 2)- missing prep tool prior to applying first step. For the price, and on another Sonax video, prep tool (spray) was used- comes with one cloth for Step 1, no additional cloth applicator providedThe good, paint really pops, if applied correctly on a clean, clayed and swirl free surface. Update one month later, no more water repeling and the paint was damaged by some birds sh.ts so it doesnt protect anything. The paint is full of little scratches like normally would be withouth any expensive product so is the same as using holly water on IT and you would save a lot of money

Did a lot for this ceramic coat to work and it failed, this 2 part application is dumb! And the foam pads are garbage. Base coat worked out & had plenty left over, but that top coat came short, empty half way around. Had some turtle ceramic wax laying around so thats now my top coat. I did alot for this ( paint correcting) Very disappointed. I even applied it the same they as there website so what ever

So the instruction said Sponge 1 should have white side? I have received black side! I don’t see no white side as the instruction box stated!?So I called the 800# number on the box they told me it doesn’t matter,I love sonics I was expecting German made stuff instruction

Worked as advertised. Used the videos on Utube from the manufacture for installation tips. One aerosol had leaked inside the package. Called the company (located in Indianapolis) and had a replacement in a day or two. Liked it so much I will coat my daughters car. Requires about 3-4 hours to complete. I did not buff the finish prior to application. Great stuff.

I applied this to a brand new (2018 M4) vehicle with paint that had been clay barred and polished prior to application. Took me 8 hours including the initial wash, clay and polishing steps. The stage one sponge was very hard to keep hold of on vertical surfaces and has a tendency to drag even when using plenty of product. This stage was very difficult to buff off and had a tendency to leave thin streaks that almost looked like scratches at first glance. Stage two went on and buffed off much…

Product goes on easy and wipes off easy. I don’t like the second step pad doesn’t slide smoothly. Ceramic coating is the way to go. Really does repel dirt and easy to wash. Time will tell how long it will last. Super happy so far after several months.
