This DVD player really is a great player. It plays DVDs and improves the audio, especially on older shows that have been ported from the movies to DVD. I mostly watch BBC shows and when they're transferred to DVD the sound sometimes doesn't improve but lately all the ones I've bought don't need to turn up the volume to hear them, the player does. The cable that came with it helped me so I didn't have to run around looking for the best cable to connect the player to my TV.

In less than seven months I have bought two Sony DVD players. The first lasted about five months, then the remote stopped working. The replacement costs more than a DVD player, so I bought another of the same model - it worked for two months and started making a loud humming noise when playing a DVD and the remote control started to malfunction. When I asked about the warranty I was referred to a 'third party' seller who wanted pictures and didn't give me any information as to what the warranty

So - I had to put two. The first was thrown about 20 feet into the yard upon delivery. We didn't even open it.
