In less than seven months I have bought two Sony DVD players. The first lasted about five months, then the remote stopped working. The replacement costs more than a DVD player, so I bought another of the same model - it worked for two months and started making a loud humming noise when playing a DVD and the remote control started to malfunction. When I asked about the warranty I was referred to a 'third party' seller who wanted pictures and didn't give me any information as to what the warranty on it was. I will never buy another Sony DVD player again. I replaced it with an LG which I'm very happy with and showing no signs of problems. The old adage "you get what you pay for” certainly seems to apply.
