Less than impressed!

I bought a fairly sophisticated wireless microphone system with a receiver and two transmitters to which a lavalier microphone could be connected. own microphone, I happened to read the rave reviews about it from Sony. I decided I could buy and use these instead of the ones that came with the mic. They are essentially condenser mics, meaning they pick up a lot more ambient noise than dynamic ones. I really had to take that into account when I used them for an interview with two people last…

Live music recording.

I bought a new Sony UDX71 recorder for fifty dollars in 2009 and have since recorded thousands upon thousands of song ideas and demos on electric and acoustic guitars with two small built in microphones on top. The thing was amazing with two exceptions. A lot of processing noise is recorded when starting and stopping recording. And at times the sound was a bit thin on the bass side. I read the reviews about it and decided to give it a try. It seems good for the money as it has eliminated the…

Gaming Microphone with Speech Recognition

I've been a gamer for decades but only recently started playing Final Fantasy 14. I've played a lot of MMOs in the past, but FF14 is unique in the amount of skills Toon has and I hate bringing my hand together to reach the alt, ctrl, shift key combinations. And I use a trackball mouse, so it's extremely difficult to get a mouse with more than 4 buttons that I like. Macros with multiple possibilities. I have a gaming headset with a built in microphone, but I wanted to play FF14 with my wife in…

The BEST budget lavalier microphone!

I recently did a video review of 3 different inexpensive lavalier mics - this one, the Olympus ME15 and the Azden EX503. Sony was by far the best. Here's what I liked about it: - The sound quality was "good enough" for me. In other words, after using it, I didn't feel like looking for something more expensive. - Rectangular plug - perfect for plugging into a small recorder and slipping into your pocket - (I use the H1 zoom) - Short cable but long enough. I believe the cord is about 4 feet long,

Stereo microphone with two inputs (left and right). This mic works well and picks up my voice with minimal background noise. The noise level is reduced with some fine tuning. It feels like an economy class mic and is made of plastic. But overall good value for money. This microphone only requires the power that the line level (3.5 mm jack) provides. No need for batteries. Make sure you plug it into an outlet that delivers that power. I use it to create simple instructional videos and live…
