I shopped here in Canada and it was the best value for money. Sounds great and the features go on and on. Great remote, I'm very happy with it.

I got this for my dad today and it doesn't even work. It's stuck in protection mode and we even checked Sony's website to see if we could fix it, but we've had no luck. waste of money

Sounds really great, but the speakers roar more than they should. I have seen this complaint from others and at other attractions. I bought mine last night and am returning mine.

This is the best surround sound system I have ever had and I have bought 5 different types, has loads of inputs. I just upgraded my subwoofer, holy crap, very loudly called the police on me!

The remote control is useless in the dark. Remote control glows in the dark. Shesch. a multifunctional remote that only works when your eyes are 20/20 and all the lights in the room are on. Otherwise I like it and would give it 5 stars so the choice is yours.

I've been using mine for two years now and haven't had a single complaint. The price at the time was high, but the receiver did not disappoint. It has plenty of (especially) digital outputs/inputs for an entry-level to mid-range home theater system. I didn't hear any hissing noises. I am currently expanding my components and have no problem thanks to the 3 digital inputs. specifications. They say it has preamp outputs but I don't see them.

I bought mine when DTS and Dolby Digital receivers were new and expensive. When this model came onto the market, it was a real price breaker for us bargain hunters. I've had no issues (including hiss) with mine and am really enjoying it on both DVD and CD. I bought good cables, I have decent infinity speakers and it will sound as loud as you want. There are probably products as good or better in this price range NOW, but when it came out it was really good value.
