Description of 🌬️ Enhanced Filtrete Allergen Defense with Uncompromised Airflow: Ultimate Air Quality Solution

Outperforms fiberglass, washable and non-electrostatic 3-month pleated 1" home air filters for your furnace, air conditioner, or HVAC system. Exclusive Filtrete Brand 3-in-1 technology from 3M traps unwanted air particles, letting cleaner air flow through. Filtrete 1000 MPR (Microparticle Performance Rating) equates to MERV 11. 1000 and 1200 MPR also available in 4”, 4” slim fit and 5” air filters.Material: Synthetic. For optimal performance, change your home air filter at least every 90 days for 1” filters, and at least every 12 months for 4” and 5” filters. For residential use only. The higher the MPR, the more microparticles - such as pollen, pet dander, smoke, bacteria and viruses - your filter will capture from the air passing through it. A dirty filter will slow down air flow and make the system work harder to keep you warm or cool - wasting energy. Sign-up for a filter change reminder program that works for you!

They are 4.5 " deep and won't fit.

I'm sorry I didn't read the reviews first because when I tried to install it (I have a lot of filters in this system changed), it just didn't fit. When I measured all four I found they were 4.5" deep. Other sizes are fine. It would be a mistake to advertise them as 4" deep. Now I have three perfectly packaged filters that don't fit and one that's slightly torn and they're too clumsy to send back.

Pros
  • 1 year trial

Difficult to remove Good for oven parts and accessories

I don't know how long they will last but there are some design issues. There are no finger cutouts on the side to pull the filter out of the housing. Had to pull out with pliers. It fits very snugly to the wearer. Second, the arrows are not on the short side that is visible after the filter is installed. (I used a marker to draw arrows and mark the install date.) It would be nice if they were shrink wrapped separately so the second one is stored and clean for another six to 12 months.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Replaces old electrostatic filters

We moved into a house with an old Honeywell electrostatic air filter from the 1980's. It might have worked once, but it definitely didn't work anymore. There was a thin filter in the shaft in front of him, but it wasn't very effective. The smart guys at 3M designed this paper filter to fit perfectly in the ESP chamber. Ours lasts about a year just for heating. Retrofitting technology has rarely worked so easily and so well.

Pros
  • Domestic use only
Cons
  • Modern

Will never buy a 3M filter again

The carton dimensions show the filter size is 20x25x4. Each size is approximately half an inch larger than listed. I didn't notice a slight difference before installing it and now this filter is stuck in my filter box as it got caught on something inside. I have to cut it open to get it when I change it. I'm not really looking forward to it because I have to run the vacuum next to it to get the dust out, but at least I have an access port. I'm so mad at 3M - they usually make decent products…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Before purchasing, please check the size

the size. Read the fine print; it is over 4 inches. I bought them when I didn't need to change the filter right away and when I changed the filter and found it was too big it was too late to return it for my money. Now I'm stuck on these filters and ended up at $40. I think it's actually my fault for not comparing the "actual" size to the size given in the description.

Pros
  • Filtrete 1000 MPR (Micropartic Efficiency Rating) matches MERV 11
Cons
  • Secret

From HVAC professionals with 34 years experience

I've been in the HVAC industry for 34 years, I've changed thousands of filters at work and at home so don't make the mistake of buying a filter that claims a Merv rating of 11 Install them and find that they don't work. Trust the Filtrete filter made by 3M. I bought cheaper filters, tested them after 3 months and found they looked like there was very little dirt on them and then put in the 3M filter with no change, they were made in the same environment and 3 months I checked and was amazed how

Pros
  • For optimal performance, replace your home air filter at least every 90 days for 1" filters and at least every 12 months for 4" and 5" filters.
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Oven Filter Sizes

I ordered a four pack 20x25x4 without knowing the actual depth. Shows 4" deep but the brackets say they are actually 4 3/8" deep which is what I want. Reading the reviews only added to the confusion. So see my photos. I checked the depth with a tape measure, which reads 4 5/16 inches. Also a picture confirms the MERV value of 11. I don't know why they insist on sticking with 20x25x4 when they could eliminate all this unnecessary confusion by simply changing the size to 20x25x5 , as made by…
