Works perfectly for exactly what it was designed for. ALWAYS be careful with Sony when it comes to customer service as there is none. I don't mean poor, I don't mean none. With that caveat, I give the product 5 stars.

First of all I'm not tech savvy. I absolutely LOVE this burner! If I can control it, ANYONE can. I bought a used one that didn't come with a manual and was able to find out using my Handycam manual. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

When our camcorder's memory filled up it would sit idle for weeks before anyone tried to transfer movies to another medium because it was so cumbersome was. This made it really easy to create DVDs from our camcorder - now it only takes a few minutes, so the camcorder is emptied regularly. The instructions were clear and easy to follow.

I had one good and one bad review and was having a hard time deciding whether to order it or not. But I did it and it took me a while to get used to it and it's not a very fast burner but it worked great and it burned and played my discs and then wiped my memory so I have a lot now Places to make more videos. I was really lucky with that.

I bought this recorder at the same time as Sony CamCorder. I've used it twice already and I have to say that it's very easy to use and does its job perfectly. It's not fast, but I can play DVDs on my Blu-ray and Reg player. DVD player. and on the computer. It is not necessary to record video on a camcorder, but it is very easy to "dump" the content onto DVD.

I found the product to be exactly as described in the literature. I used it with a Sony DCR-SR67 camera to copy both media from a memory card. like a video stored on my 80GB hard drive. If you follow the instructions, you'll get good copies every time. I'm glad I bought it through amazon.com as I felt I saved some money compared to other options.

So easy to use - just plug in the camera, turn both on and follow the instructions. It takes a long time to burn each disc, but I like it because I don't have to bother with transferring videos to a computer and creating videos from a computer. It's easy to choose which videos I want to transfer (all editing is done on camera) and then follow the instructions to burn a DVD with Sony DVD Writer. Easy and very happy!

Have used this DVD burner with the HDR-CX500V camcorder to burn HD DVDs a few times and have found it reliable. All editing is done with a camcorder and not a capture device, so editing is pretty easy compared to a PC capture device and video editing program. But this DVD burner is easy to use, compact to carry, reliable and much cheaper than a desktop HD DVD drive. Recommended if it suits your needs.
