SopiGuard Surface Duo Phone Edge-to-Edge Precision Vinyl Skin Wrap: Leather Textured Sticker for Ultimate Protection Review

The Duo's Gorilla Glass 5 needs some protection. Everyone recommended Sopiguard and I'm glad I listened. I have light wood. I was pleasantly surprised by its thickness. Installation was pretty easy and the hair dryer really stuck the skin to the edges. It also doesn't look like the wood paneling of station wagons from the '70s.

I bought the white carbon fiber skin for my surface duo. As you can see the fit is very good and the carbon fiber offers a bit more grip on the device than before installation. The product is supplied in a sturdy cardboard sleeve along with an alcohol swab and tissue for use in device prep. appearance for the application.

I cracked my Surface Duo right next to the charging port while sitting on it on a hard chair. The hard chair made direct contact with the charging port (which is probably the worst part of the duo's physical design) and shattered the back glass (I hate the design of all glass phones!). Anyway I bought this skin and it ran smooth and nice and now there is no sign at all that the glass is cracked. As a bonus, my phone now looks like something out of Forged in Fire too!

While it offers an alternative to established brands' vinyl sleeves, it just doesn't last as long as those brands. Within a week of normal use with no drops or scratches on anything but my back pocket, this leather had two dents. Okay, so maybe "it just does the job" - but then again, since leather isn't as protective as a case, I babysat the duo. Potholes aside, pulling the phone out of a pants pocket yesterday was enough to fray the skin around the Microsoft logo cutout.

I don't know why so many people hate this device. I love it. Yes, the camera is just a selfie cam, but it's worth it because it doesn't have a camera hump, so the phone is the same size when turned inside out. The software is still partially faulty, but usable. I think it's more of an Android issue when using dual screens on Android 10. Bought a faux leather Sopiguard. The leather pattern is visually convincing, but feels plastic. It's not a problem for me, but some might want to know. Installation was easy. Simply peel off the decal and re-stick to the backing paper leaving about 1/2 inch of decal hanging down. Use this piece to line the leather and when you're done simply peel off the paper and wrap the rest of the leather. If I find one small flaw, it's that the edge of the sticker sticks out a bit. Purchased for Microsoft Surface Duo Why didn't I give 5 stars? After a few weeks, the back corner of the skin around the lower joint is scaly. It bothers me so much that I almost gave it 3 stars.
