These are great cooling pads on a solid aluminum platform. The aluminum helps with heat dissipation, but they have silicone pads that prevent the aluminum from making direct contact. You can remove the pads but I prefer not to. Aluminum doesn't rust, which is an important factor when buying in the saltwater environment I live in.
