There is nothing unique about this bit that makes it better suited for plastic work than any other high speed steel bit. I have special plastic bits that leave perfectly clean holes and this bit does NOT fall into that category. I tested this bit on 2mm thick ABS and [regardless of speed and pressure] it invariably left burrs on both sides. If your goal is to make clean holes in plastic that don't require sanding, I would strongly recommend NOT using it.
I have a signage company. I broke a piece of acrylic at a construction site trying to use a good quality standard bat (the sign cost me $250 to replace). But even worse, when a well-gagged acrylic plate hits the grooves of a standard racquet, the plate spins, pinning you to your foot. This is the right tool for the job. It cuts through acrylic without cracking or pinching. I don't know if this is any better than other custom acrylic bits, but it worked for me.
This bit is advertised as being for acrylic and plexiglass, but I'm pretty sure it's just a plain old bit. The drill bit I received was black and doesn't look anything like the one in the picture above. It left cracks and chips in every hole I drilled in the new Plexiglas for my boat (about 8 in total). $200 down the drain for this scam product. I had to test this on my old glass, but I trusted the list. Lesson learned. Do not buy this drill bit if you are drilling plexiglass or acrylic.
