Chic tri shorts for beginners

New to duathlon and looking for cheap shorts. After a sprint, olympic length and a few runs to break in these shorts seem to be holding up great. The suede feels a bit smaller and thinner than my regular cycling shorts, but that makes them more comfortable to run in. No weird chafing and they have pockets!

Pros
  • 2 practical pockets and 2 back pockets for storing your competition equipment.
Cons
  • Not all fit

No privacy panel - get it if you want to show your junk to everyone.

A little loose if you follow the size chart. The waist is a little bigger than I would like and the legs creep up a bit. What frustrates me the most is the lack of privacy. Although it is black, it is translucent. I don't understand why it doesn't have a privacy shield like other triathlon shorts or swim shorts.

Pros
  • Sparx gel thigh straps, reflective logo, 6mm thin quick dry pad
Cons
  • Nothing

Functional, stylish and AFFORDABLE

Great triathlon shorts. I love the color options. I hate that most running/cycling/triathlon shorts are boring and black. They have 2 good side pockets, 2 small back pockets, decent but flexible bike padding and seem to be of good quality so far. The Sugoi & Pearl Izumi shorts might be a bit more premium, but I think you're basically paying for the label. They also wear out over time.

Pros
  • Drawstring closure
Cons
  • Useless features

Suitable for cycling but not swimming

I find these shorts comfortable for cycling but when they get wet in the water they become too stretchy and lose their tight fit. They feel wet compared to the TYR shorts I also wear. Small pockets built into shorts are useless as they are small enough for items to fall out while cycling, and they can also create drag in the water. I like the design in general, but would go for a material with less water absorption.

Pros
  • X Energy compression fabric side panel for optimal support and muscle recovery
Cons
  • Vulgarity
